How to poison-protect your children at home
• Keep all medications and household cleaning products in locked cabinets.
• These products, as well as cosmetics, should always be out of the sight and reach of children. Do not leave these products out unguarded.
• Keep all products in their original containers.
• Read labels before using products and follow directions carefully.
• Keep medications out of sight and reach of young children.
• Don't keep unnecessary medication.
• Don't mix household cleaning products together, as this can create harmful toxic fumes
• Make sure that strong chemicals such as bleach, furniture polish or drain cleaners are properly closed before answering the phone or door.
• Keep all emergency numbers near every phone. Make sure the number of the Poison Information Centre nearest you is on every list.
• If someone is poisoned, save the container and take it to the hospital with you.
